0-16 weeks is the most important developmental period for puppies… but it’s usually not the hardest one that dog owners will go through.
Most dog owners struggle the most when their puppy reaches 6, 9, or just over 12 months of age. Fear periods and puberty are a circus. Truthfully.
But what most dog owners don’t realize…. is that all the most common behavior problems that pop up later…. Every single one of them were impacted by the foundation that puppy gets before they turn 16 weeks old.
Does that mean that it’s “too late” to catch up if a puppy is already older than that? No. Definitely not. It usually just means that we should work twice as hard to prepare them and teach them. Especially if they didn’t get as much socialization as they should have.
We don’t believe in waiting until 6 months old to start training your puppy.
